The University Foundation (FONDUDS) under the auspices of its Board chair, the Vice-Chancellor, members of the Chancellery board alongside members of the university community witnessed the reception of the Foundation’s first executed project: the Post graduate building on the 21st June 2019. The  building, the first of its kind built by a State University,   presented by the DIPD/UDs, Prof Tamo  T. Thomas, is a two storey building having  6 lecture hall rooms, an administrative block of 7 offices, a jury hall and 8 toilets was reception to the satisfaction of the university community. The building, built on accurate precision had an execution duration of 8 months with a cost of 80 million FCFA.

This edifice is constructed to habour the Post-graduate school of the University of Dschang in a bid to improve on excellence. Having an economic lighting system and provision for handicap students, the building is comprised of a packing lodge and is beautified with   flowers. Final minute touches are being carried out at the new Post-Graduate site to ensure a receptive environment for the post graduates come 2019/2020 academic year. Here are some excerpts of the Board chair Mr Jacob Sinze and Prof Thomas T Tamo, Director of Planning and infrastructure during the  reception ceremony ; Prof Tamo had this to say “This is an architectural edifice with a capacity of over 80 students per class, with 4 offices with one belonging to the Director of the Post graduate School and its secretariat. We also have a jury hall with the capacity of 80 places… we equally provided 2 blocks for toilets (male and female). We took into consideration the management of the PG school by the installation of an economic lighting system… I will end by saying the building cost ¼ less than what would have been the case of a contract”. The Board chair on his part stressed that “this is an essential step in the foundation. It’s our first project and it was realized under the University of Dschang despite the fact that the funds were 100% from the foundation. We are happy that the university gave us the intellectual resources to attain this objective. I must admit that I am very happy… this will make others believe that the foundation was not a project in vain…it will help the university accomplish its academic endeavors. This is an important step to our university and foundation…” The foundation has executed its first project other earmarked projects will subsequently follow suit.
