UDs ends sporting season triumphantly
CISUDs 2026 Finals delivers drama, trophies, and sets the tune for FINAJU 2026 Ebolowa.
The Rains tried to have the final word, but it never stood a chance against the energy at the UDs projected on Tuesday, July 28, 2026 at the catapult stadium of campus A which hosted the 8th edition of the Inter Services Championship (CISUDs). This sporting jamboree reached its climax at the Catapult Stadium and the Campus A handball court, and by the time the closing whistle blew, the university had proven once again why sport sits at the heart of campus life.
Handball: Central and Specialized Services Reign Supreme.
The handball final was a statement performance from the Central and Specialized Services team, who powered past the Faculty of Agronomy and Agricultural Science with a commanding 7–4 scoreline to claim the title. The Faculty of Letters and Social Sciences rounded out the podium in third place after their earlier third-place fixture against the faculty of Sciences. The individual star of the day was Madame Natalie Behodou, the champions’ goalkeeper, who walked away with both overall best player and Best Goalkeeper honours a rare double that capped off a dominant title run for her side.
Football: Fine Arts Foumban Survive a Penalty Thriller
Over at the Catapult Stadium, the football final lived up to every bit of its billing. The Institute of Fine Arts of the University of Dschang in Foumban and the Fotso Victor University Institute of Technology of Bandjoun locked horns in a tense, tightly contested match that ended 1–1 after regulation time. With neither side willing to blink, the contest was decided from the penalty spot, where Fine Arts Foumban held their nerve to edge it 5–3 and lift the trophy. Fittingly, individual glory was shared across the divide the Best Player and Best Goalkeeper awards went to a standout from the runner-up Bandjoun side, a reminder that in football, brilliance doesn’t always end up on the winning team.
The Rector’s Salute to Community Spirit
Following the trophy presentations, the Rector took to the podium to close the ceremony with a heartfelt address. He congratulated both winning teams and praised the fans clubs whose energy carried through the half-time animations and every minute of play. He extended his appreciation to all colleagues, institutional and non-institutional alike, for making the event possible, and reflected on how days like this keep the university « alive » a living, breathing community beyond the lecture halls.
But the speech wasn’t just a celebration of the day gone by. Looking ahead, the Rector called on the same fans clubs to carry their fire to Ebolowa, where the University of Dschang will compete in the 2026 University Games(FINAJU). Their spirited cheering, he said, would be needed more than ever on that bigger stage.
