Staff Mobility

A Catalyst for Social Cohesion and Global Excellence at UDs

On October 2nd and 5th, 2026, the academic and administrative staff of the University of Dschang (UDs) gathered at the Djoumessi Mathias International Conference Center for their annual General Assembly. Presided over by the Rector, Professor Roger Tsafack Nanfosso, the high-profile assembly convened to set the strategic trajectory for the 2026/2027 academic year, placing institutional staff mobility as one of its key values of its vision.
Beyond its administrative function, staff mobility has emerged as a cornerstone of UDs’ policy to reinforce social cohesion, professional growth, and international standing. This strategic mechanism enables teaching and non-teaching personnel to participate in advanced professional development activities abroad, while simultaneously welcoming experts from the professional world to train students on campus. Additionally, it drives participation in blended intensive programs, fostering joint curricula and cross-border academic initiatives.
Under the leadership of Professor Nanfosso, the University of Dschang has institutionalized a seamless, merit-based mobility framework. During the 2024/2025 and 2025/2026 academic year alone, over 26 mobility opportunities (19 for teaching staff and 7 for non-teaching) were granted to university staff, taking scholars and administrators to prestigious partner institutions across Spain, France, Italy, and the Czech Republic. These international exchanges empower UDs personnel to actively contribute to a globally connected higher education landscape while tightening the link between academic instruction and cutting-edge research.
The broader mandate of this scheme extends well beyond simple travel. By allowing personnel to explore international academic frameworks and cross-cultural environments, the initiative cultivates essential transversal and forward-looking competencies. Beneficiaries sharpen critical communication, multi-lingual, and problem-solving abilities, alongside vital digital and green skills designed to address contemporary global challenges. At a personal level, the experience builds adaptability, self-confidence, and a renewed commitment to institutional excellence.
For educators, international mobility offers a platform to share expertise, adopt innovative pedagogical methods, refine curriculum design, and establish durable research networks. These global collaborations directly benefit the student body by enhancing the quality of instruction and aligning academic training with the evolving demands of the global labour market.
To ensure equitable access, the Rector has streamlined the selection pipeline into a transparent, two-step procedure comprising a simple application followed by an audition. Every member of the university community regardless of grade or department is encouraged to apply. Marking the culmination of this empowering initiative, successful participants were officially awarded attestations by Rector, Prof Roger Tsafack Nanfosso during the General Assemblies, celebrating their contributions to the university’s growing international spectrum.
