Preparations for the 55th National Youth day celebration

UDs gears up in strict government regulations

Dschang,UDs/SIC-04/02/21. In prelude to the 55th edition of the National Youth day under the theme “Youth, Resilience, Challenges and Opportunities in times of COVID-19 ”, the University of Dschang through strict instructions from its Vice Chancellor, Prof Roger Tsafack Nanfosso, is gearing up with preparatory activities in total compliance with government regulations. In a brief interview with the Communications Unit, the Director of Student’s Welfare, Mr Zie Zie Gothard says it is a special celebration come 11th February 2021 since it falls within the pandemic era and appropriate measures need to be taken before and during the event. For the 2021 youth day preparations, all sporting and cultural activities which characterized the event have been cancelled and only the march pass practice session and other intellectual activities such as conferences bordering around the youth day theme have been scheduled. The Vice chancellor is ensuring that all the activities tie in line with harmonized programme nationwide presented to the public by the Minister of Youth Affairs and Civic Education during the kickoff of the national youth week for 2021. For this year’s preparation the vice chancellor has given strict indications for barrier measures to be taken in line with the local organizing committee. The University of Dschang which has always been at the heart of the parade during the celebration but due to the pandemic will file in 50 students per faculty and school, all in their protective masks, maintaining appropriate distancing measures. With the Director being a Principal Youth Counselor and Animator par excellence, a special touch of innovation is awaited come February 11th  ,2021 when the University of Dschang will join all other Cameroonian youths to celebrate the national day in flying colours./
