Minister assures students of the PV HEV laptops

Dschang UDs/SIC-16/02/18. During the handing ceremony of the Head of State’s gift of Computers to the students of the University of Dschang,Prof. Jacques Fames Ndongo, Minister of Higher Education and Chancellor of Academic Orders in his speech extended the love of the father of the nation President Paul Biya to the students  ‘ The Head of State, your father asked me to tell you that he loves you very much and he knows that you love him’. As a bearer of the presidential gift, the Minister of Higher Education expressed the dream of the students ‘You wanted new generation computers, here they are’. With the computers, the head of the Higher Education Ministry assured students that they are no longer only students from the University of Dschang, or Cameroon or Africa but they are now world students thanks to the SSD system through which they can easily realize didactic and documentary dreams. He continued to enumerate the advantages of the computers which will permit them be connected to Microsoft cloud. Highlighting that the construction of a digital national University center is underway. He denounced all the derogatory terms that had been attached to the computers explaining that though the hardware may be from China, the software is from the USA. The Minister rounded up by encouraging the students to get to know about the usage of the computers (the inner and outer storage), learn to manipulate it well and endeavor to make it their daily companion. He equally disclosed the Prime Minister, head of government’s plans to plant a national digital university working in line with the E-national Educational Network to form a digital world.

The Minister’s speech was followed by a beautiful musical piece with messages of thanks to the Head of State composed by the Dschang University choir after which the handing over proper of 48 computers ( five per Faculties and 8 general student delegate of the University of Dschang) . The event ended at 11.30 a.m. with feelings of total satisfaction from the students and entire university community/GC
