Brewed innovation at its peak

Dschang UDs/Sic-06/11/17.The Support Center for Technology, Innovation and Incubation (CATI2) on November 6th officially launched a week long training program tagged ‘Start-up week’. The ceremony which began at 9:40 at the University of Dschang was presided over by The Dean of FASA, Prof Bitom. Being at its second phase after a 6 month program offered to 22 young project bearers, the week-long activity as explained by the coordinator of CATI2 Prof Tchamba Martin will constitute of 144 intensive hours during which the project bearers will come in contact with renowned mentors, coaches and prolific trainers who will provide the necessary aspects in molding the young entrepreneurs. The opening ceremony which lasted 1h:30 minutes had as main points: presentation of project bearers and their projects, introduction of executive members of CATI2 by Prof Tchamba and opening word by the Dean of FASA, Prof Bitom. It is worth noting that the innovative projects were ideas of young entrepreneurs from a cross section of the branches of UDs, Cresa-Yaoundé, Ebolowa and IUT Bandjoun with the project supervised by the Vice Chancellor Prof Tsafack Nanfosso. The Dean of FASA in his opening speech could not hide his appreciation to the 22 candidates selected among 455 others. He equally appreciated the fact that the female folks were greatly represented. Being at a decisive stage in which 10 out of the 22 projects will be selected at the end of the week, Prof Bitom called on those who will not be counted among the chosen few to work further on ripening their ideas while inviting the meritorious candidates to take their success as a challenge. He called on the project bearers to believe in themselves and use their potentials and available raw material for nation building.The working session followed immediately after the opening ceremony directed by Prof Tchamba Martin and later by Dr. Djimeli Alexandre. Activities will run through the week and will be crowned on November 10th during the ceremony of the official reopening of the 2017/2018 school year during which results of the Start-up week will be proclaimed as well as awards given to meritorious project bearers. / GC
