IUT/FV receives the trophy during the male football finals of the competition

Wraps up in grand style at the Catapult stadium/UDs

Dschang,UDs/SIC-01/02/17.The first edition of the inter faculty championship which kicked off last year 30th of November 2016   at the University Institute of Technology Fotso Victor in Bandjoun wrapped up in grand style at the main campus of the University Of Dschang. The event which was marked by the finals in all sports and cultural disciplines was witnessed by the Vice Chancellor, members of the Chancellery council and the entire university community. The ceremony which started at 2.30 pm was a prolongation of activities witnessed on the 31st January with finals in the various cultural disciplines, judo and wrestling sports. The ceremony saw the vice chancellor kick started the various Olympic and Paralympic disciplines in the male and female category at the various stadia of the main campus of the university as he made a punctual tour with his collaborators. The male football finals which followed suit was between the Faculty of Economics and Management and the University institute of Technology Fotso victor which ended in favour of IUT/Fv 4:2 through penalty shoot-out. The presentation of trophies and awards crowned the ceremony with the Faculty of Sciences clinching the overall best during the competition.

The Vice chancellor ,Prof Roger Tsafack Nanfosso in his very bilingual speech lauded the efforts of the Directorate of student’s welfare and most especially the athletes and competitors who not only showed the spirit of fair play but imbibe the vision of togetherness during the championship. He emphasized that the ceremony marks the end of an important event on the academic calendar. He encourages the athletes to emulate the indomitable spirit and appreciated the efforts made by the 7 faculties to compete at the highest levels during the competition. Prof Tsafack Nanfosso encouraged the students to tailor the objectives of the competition towards the forth coming university and UNIFAC games. He reiterated that, the competition was a platform to animate the campus, a recreational venture and a talent hunt for the university. The Vice Chancellor thanked the coaches and hoped for an improved competition come next year. He finally called on the students to remain steadfast in the forthcoming exams and cautioned them to be vigilant and security conscious during this peril moments of insecurity in the country./
