Scientific and cultural prowess on showcase
The scientific and cultural week of the University of Dschang continues on the main campus of the UDs. Students, teaching and non-teaching staff have been visiting the site to appreciate the realities of the faculties and schools, particularly with regard to scientific production and technological and artistic innovations, coming from the different faculties. This week’s program included exhibitions and other sporting and cultural activities.
For example, at the level of the Faculty of Science, professional Master’s students in public health nutrition, dietetics and nutritional education were strongly mobilized to offer activities such as the taking of anthropometric measurements (height, weight, waist circumference, hip circumference) and blood pressure measurement. All this end with nutritional advice thanks to the information that the participants will have given following these examinations and exchanges. The students of the branch of cosmetics have been offering to visitors, products such as ointments, cosmetic creams, cleansing milks and vegetable oils.
Right next to the FS, we find the faculty of Law and Political science which offers very important documentation for the Cameroonian citizen, namely the penal code, Cameroonian labor code, law and political science journals, etc.
Not far from there, you can see models and products specially designed and offered by the IUT FOTSO VICTOR in Bandjoun. These models include those to facilitate road traffic with motion detectors especially at intersections, an “egusi peeling device” and a device for the reading of human physiological parameters.
The atmosphere in the exhibition village is brought to life by the Directorate of students welfare, through traditional dances and individual sports games such as badminton and table tennis among others.
Despite the pressure of the courses which are underway on the campus of the UDs, on can still notice a significant mobilization of curious people around the stands or in order to better inform themselves about the opportunities for different training courses offered by the faculties, or to have fun.
