UDs hosts capacity building programme

Dschang UDs/SIC-18/04/18. A two day refresher course Programme for Italian teachers is organized by the University of Dschang in collaboration with the University of STRANIERI DI SIENA in Italy. The launching ceremony of the 2nd edition of the programme brought together University lecturers and secondary school teachers of the Italian language as well as students. During the ceremony, the coordinator of the Italian center, Dr Colbert Akieudji presenting the programme, stated that the 2nd edition of the 2-day refresher course rotates around a more efficient methodology and thematic aspect of the Italian language. He highlighted that the theme of the refresher course was not only linked to the teaching but also the cooperation tie between the university and Italy. The coordinator called on participants to use the platform and enrich their knowledge and skills on the effective teaching of the Italian language. This presentation was followed by a word from the dean of the Faculty of Letters and Social Sciences represented by the Vice Dean, Mathias Atsatsito who underscored the essence of the refresher programme and stated that the Italian language programme spanned throughout the BMD system of the University with over 174 students. He emphasized that the cooperation with the University of Stranieri was very active with intensified exchange programmes between the two. The Vice dean welcomed the trainer from the University of Stranieri ,Dr Raymond SIEBETCHEU. He appreciated the certified examination programme and hoped for intensified cooperation ties with Italy so as to keep the Faculty of Letters and social Science as a point of reference.

The launching speech by the Vice Chancellor, represented by the Deputy vice Chancellor, Prof Brusil Metou Miranda said it was an honour to host lecturers and teachers of the language. Prof Metou stated that the teaching of the language had projected the University of Dschang for others to emulate. She highlighted that the Center of certified examination is a good illustration of cooperation and such a programme is an important exchange between the universities. The event ended with a family snapshot and the first refresher course for the participants.
