UDs to host Country level training workshops

 Dschang,UDs/SIC-12/01/18.The University of Dschang will play host to a series of  regional and country level training workshops organized by The ACP-EU Development minerals programme  partnering with the African Minerals and Geosciences Center on geological data digitization techniques, field mapping and resource estimation of Development minerals. This workshop shall run from the 12th to the 26th January, 2018 at 9:am at the Geomatics laboratory of the Faculty of Agronomy and Agricultural Sciences of the University. These series of workshops are aimed at familiarizing trainees with mapping and digitizing software, catalyzing the collection of geological data, improving knowledge on training of trainers style approach among others. The event which consists of four training stages will include; the selection of training participants and needs assessment, preparation for training and collection of available data, country level training and return to work projects and the development of geo-data inventories.  The African Minerals and Geoscience Center (AMGC) will be the lead event partner of the training alongside the Cameroon Ministry of Mines, Industry and technological Development:  Direction of Geological survey, the University of Dschang, IRGM, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Mines.

It is worth noting that AMGC has as mission to promote socio-economic and environmentally responsible mineral development in Africa and has a vision to be a pioneer and leader in the provision of minerals services in Africa. This massive intellectual exchange will definitely improve the scientific spectrum of Africa and Cameroon in particular /
