 62 Medical Doctors and Pharmacists Graduate from UDs

A total of 62 medical doctors and pharmacists graduated from the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmaceutical Sciences (FMPS) of the University of Dschang on March 19th , 2026, during a ceremony held at the Mathias Djoumessi International Conference Center.The graduating cohort comprised 42 medical doctors and 20 pharmacists. The event brought together university authorities, administrative officials, health professionals, and families of the graduates.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Dean of FMPS, Professor Pierre Simeon Choukem, described the graduates as ambassadors of the institution. He urged them to uphold the values and reputation of the university as they officially took their oath and received their MD and PharmD diplomas. He also encouraged them to remain connected to their alma mater through the alumni association and to support future generations of students.

The Rector of the University of Dschang, Professor Roger Tsafack Nanfosso, who represented the Minister of State, Minister of Higher Education, praised the academic achievement of the graduates. He particularly highlighted the strong representation of women in the cohort, estimated at about 62% and 60% across the two disciplines. According to him, this reflects national efforts to promote inclusion and gender balance in higher education and professional sectors as prescribed by the Head of State.

On behalf of the graduates, Dr. Ganmo Seumo Lionel recounted the challenges faced throughout their training and expressed gratitude to lecturers and university staff for their guidance. He affirmed the commitment of the new professionals to uphold ethical standards in their respective fields.

The ceremony featured the administration of the professional oath, supervised by the relevant professional orders, followed by the awarding of diplomas. Prizes were awarded by the faculty to the overall best graduate of  each discipline then by the alumni association and the National Order of Pharmacists to the top three graduates. The event ended with tributes from the laureates to their lecturers, marking the beginning of their professional journey with a commitment to serve with integrity and dedication.
