Four Days of Digital Transformation
Over 200 Students Engage in MTN Skills Certification at the University of Dschang
Over 200 students of the University of Dschang are participating in a four-day digital transformation training organized under the MTN Skills Certification Program, tagged “MTN Skills Academy”. The event, currently taking place at Amphi 453 from the 24th to the 27th February, 2026, marks a significant step toward strengthening students’ knowledge and competencies in digital technologies and preparing them for the global job market.
With the approval of the Rector of the University of Dschang, the training session was officially launched by the Vice Rector in charge of Research, Cooperation and Relations with the Business World, Prof. Guimdo Dongmo Raymond Bertrand. In his opening remarks, he emphasized that the initiative serves as a strategic platform to keep the university aligned with evolving digital trends, ensuring that it remains a citadel of academic excellence.
He further highlighted that the program enhances employability, positioning students not only within Cameroon but also on the international stage. According to him, such initiatives set important benchmarks for academic and professional advancement in today’s digital economy.
During the launching ceremony, representatives of the MTN Foundation expressed gratitude to the university for offering students this valuable opportunity. They reiterated MTN’s commitment to empowering young people through digital inclusion and capacity building.
Through its foundation, MTN continues to provide social and educational benefits to communities. By equipping young students with relevant digital skills, the program opens doors to global opportunities and prepares them to compete effectively in the modern workforce. The training, delivered through structured modules in the MTN Skills Academy Program, is designed to develop practical competencies and foster innovation among participants.
Students present came equipped with their laptops and electronic devices to facilitate their enrollment and certification procedures throughout the training. Despite the ongoing resit session, students are encouraged to participate actively so to permit as many learners as possible to benefit from this transformative initiative.
